Pollen warning service Upper Austria from April 23 to 30, 2025
While the pollen load from birch and ash is only moderate in the lowlands, the focus is on the middle altitudes of the Mühlviertel and the foothills of the Alps. Hornbeam, oak and beech also bloom at lower altitudes.
In settlement areas, sycamore and walnut begin to flower. In the meadows of the Alpine foothills, the first pollen of allergologically important grasses, plantain and dock can be found. In the Alpine region, green alder has begun to flower, which can trigger local reactions in people allergic to alder and birch.
In general, willow, poplar, maple, elm, boxwood and cypress are still common in the pollen count, but are of little allergological relevance.
