Change in the weather brings relief!

As the week progresses, the weather becomes cloudy, cold and rainy. These conditions will result in less pollen release and therefore relief for allergy sufferers. More sunshine and friendlier conditions are not expected until the beginning of the coming week, which will then lead to an increase in allergic exposure again.

The pollen spectrum continues to be dominated by hazel and alder , although the plants have already passed their flowering peak in the lowlands. In the next few days, the pollution will remain at a low level, with moderate concentrations possible again with the next period of fine weather. In mid-altitudes, the pollution peak of the early flowering season may then occur, as the plants begin to flower with a delay due to a slight delay in the vegetation period.

In thermally favorable locations, ash pollen can also lead to allergic stress.

People who are sensitized to pollen from olive trees, which include ash and forsythia , should not bring flowering forsythia into the house as decoration. Although the flowers are actually pollinated by insects, their pollen can cause allergic reactions in the immediate vicinity of the plants.

From today's perspective, the data from the flowering readiness model for this year's birch season indicates that the plants will be ready to flower in the second half of March, although the data still shows a fairly wide range of fluctuation, which will only decrease as flowering approaches.

Other types of pollen in the ambient air: yew, poplar, elm, willow and cypress. These are of minor importance from an allergological point of view.
